National Contingency Plan (NCP) Toxicity Testing

The National Contingency Plan (NCP) provides procedures for using dispersants and other chemicals in order to respond to discharges of oil and other contaminants. Products need to be listed on the NCP Product Schedule to be used in a spill response.

For most products, a standard toxicity test exposing Menidia beryllina and Americamysis bahia to the product, No. 2 fuel oil, and 1:10 mixture of product to oil, as well as a reference toxicant is required in order to submit the product to the EPA for approval.

EE USA has the experience and test organisms available to complete these toxicity tests.
